Week 5 Term 4 2013

Our hens are laying!! We got our first egg this week and have now had 3 altogether!

This week we made:
Mini Asparagus Quiches
Soup of the Imagination
Pizza of the Imagination
Broad Bean and Potato Salad
Pasta with Spinach and Ricotta
I have to admit to writing most of this blog about Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday classes as I do not teach on Mondays and Fridays (Orange, Red, Silver and Blue Classes). Perhaps someone who attends these classes would like to contribute?
Here are some photos taken on those days:

We saw more great use of our wireless switch by Bradley and Daniel this week.

Soup continued to be delicious. Here you can see the wonderful selection that Josie made from our harvest table: eggplant, onions, garlic, leeks, swede, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes and corn!

It was good to see Mitchell included in the soup making this week; he helped Chris to peel potatoes while Liam did all the chopping.

The quiche recipe has been a really good one – great taste and great learning opportunities. Well done to Nick, Litiani, Laura and Aidan in particular.

We have continued to focus on plating up and serving – Aidan and Litiani can be seen here plating up their quiches.

Regan and Sam did a fantastic job when they made their spinach and ricotta sauces.

And yellow class excelled themselves with their soup and with their broad bean and potato salad. Matthew and Thomaz harvested beans and spinach really well. Thomaz is just about independent at harvesting now.

A short entry this week – hardly any gardening because of rain.
